I guess this post hasn't been overly informative, but oh well. I'd say I hope I'll post more in the future, but I don't know if that's going to happen! All I have to say is that good thing LJ isn't homework I guess...

Summer time girl
Apr. 29th, 2007 | 01:41 am
music: 松浦亜弥 - YOUR SONG~青春宣誓~
I just decided that I should make a LJ post...but I don't know what to say T_T (ha ha)
Anyway, I have only 1 1/2 weeks of school left. I'm reeeaaaalllllly excited. I'm ready to get out of here xD That being said, I don't know how my summer will go. You see, I'm sorta supposed to have a job but I don't have one as of yet *cough* And I want a job, but I sort of don't. I mean, I hate being a total summer bum. It makes me feel sick because of all the staying inside and having a bad sleep schedule, but when you're actually doing it, you don't want to quit xD It's addicting man! A few summers ago I had summer school econ at 7:45 in the morning (total yuck) but it actually felt good that I had the whole day ahead of me (even by the time I got home!) Otherwise I'll do the whole, go to sleep at 2, wake up at 2 thing which is really no good.
But where would I get a job??????? I have a severe dislike of the food-service industry, but where else can an 18-year-old with little job experience work? I had hoped to get a job at a day camp, but since I was way too nervous at the interview, I didn't get the job. Which sucks you know, because I'm good at working with kids. That's my job now. I know that job interviews are important in the real world, but what do they mean for a job like this? I was being interviewed with one other guy and he was a total smooth talker. Lawyer-type, ya know? Just because he's some suave Davis guy doesn't mean he's actually good with kids *rolls eyes* But whatever, I didn't get the job and that's that. I obviously need to apply somewhere where they don't see over-achieving DHS students all the time. At least I have a little while to look for jobs until the "real" summer starts. I'm guessing that most people won't be able to start summer jobs until June-ish, but I'll be ready in a few weeks. Ugh...who am I kidding? I can't a job. I'll just be some summer bum @_@ I'm so lame xD Maybe I'll try to go outside at least. It'd be nice to go to the pool everyday...but that's hard unless I drive because even though it seems close enough to walk, Davis summers are pretty brutal -_- and I don't bike...I fail at being a Davisite xD
So, I should make some plans for myself this summer. Here's a list of mine so far (okay, so it's not like I'm self-improving, but whatever)
Hm...I told myself to come up with 10, and I did, but they're not so good, huh? xD I *know* there was some other things I wanted to have me do, but I'm not sure what! Oh well, I'll remember. And um...yeah, that's it I guess. Peace out ; ) lol

Yeah, I'm actually updating...

music: Kaoru Amane - タイヨウのうた
Hm...what to say? Well, I'm sure most of you know (who reads this thing anyway? D: ) that I'm here at Beloit College in southern Wisconsin. It's so south, in fact, that if I drove (which I wouldn't, since I can't drive & don't have a car) 5 minutes south I'd be in Illinois. Actually, South Beloit is in Illinois and Beloit is in Wisconsin, but they're connected like it's one town. It doesn't matter much to me, because I'm on campus about 100% of the time. You see, Beloit isn't such a nice town. It's a former industrial town like many of the small towns in the eastern half of the United States. After factories were shut down, the economy just sucked in these towns. Basically, Beloit today is a self-contained ghetto. I think the town has maybe around 30,000 residents, but it's a seriously crappy place. There's a lot of crime & sketchy people around. Campus itself is nice though. I think these crappy towns are just part of the territory when it comes to small liberal arts colleges. I hear they're all basically like this. Colleges this small just don't make a large impact on a town's economy which is in total contrast to a college town like Davis. In Davis, we exist because of UCD. In Beloit, the townspeople don't really think of the college at all. I don't want to leave Beloit because of the town, obviously, but for anyone who's still looking at colleges, I advise you to seriously examine the town you'll be in. It seems like it wouldn't be a big deal, but if sort of is. I guess it depends on whether you'd really care about something like that.

College. OMG
Aug. 26th, 2006 | 12:38 pm
location: Wisconsin
music: YUI for 雨音薫 - Good-bye days
Anyway, on August 11th I left Davis for Chicago where I spent some time before coming to Beloit. It was really fun. I saw Wicked, Blue Man Group, Cirque du Soleil and went to 3 museums: Art Institute of Chicago (I saw American Gothic!), Field Museum, and Museum of Science and Industry. Then we went to Madison for 2 days and we went a horridly intense shopping expedition for all of my school stuff. I ended up buying so much stuff and spending a lot of money! ^^;; Then we all went to Beloit and here I am...yeah.
Beloit is pretty fun so far. Unfortunately, being the shy person that I am, I'm not connecting to that many people that fast. I have been hanging out a lot with this one girl on my floor and she's really nice. Even though our classes haven't officially started yet, we've all had to be in our First Year Initiative (FYI) class everyday. The people in that class are nice enough, but not 'best friend' material or anything xD I think I'll find more people with similar interests to me once I start my classes though. And those start on Tuesday (!)
My room is really nice. It's a 9x12 single, and though it's smaller than my room at home, it isn't smaller by much. I still have to put up some posters or something though. Luckily I actually bought 2 posters yesterday. One is Tinkerbell and one is Disney Princesses. They're pretty sweet.
It's weird that there are so many midwesterners here! Weird for me, I mean. Looking at the geographical situation of my school, it makes perfect sense xD I'm happy today is Saturday. I have no required anythings today...I'm just free free free! (already being annoyed with school...uh oh, bad sign xD )
Well, I'll post later I guess.

POTC
Jul. 9th, 2006 | 07:49 pm
music: 上木彩矢 - A constellation
Anyway, I've been reading articles and POTC DMC blew away the records for its opening weekend. It made the most in one day ever, beating Star Wars Episode 3 and beat the opening weekend record that was set by Spider Man in 2002. Heh heh heh. I wonder how the 3rd one will do? Pretty well, I guess. Anyway, this all leads me to say that Jerry Bruckheimer produces some good stuff and he must be really rich...Um, yeah.
On a side note: wow, Orlando Bloom and Kate Bosworth are going to be in a movie together next year (or the year after) I hate her x_x

Happy 4th

music: SAYAKA - ever since
I love summer, ya know. Of course, my summer this year is going to be a bit short. About 2 months, actually. You see, halfway through August I'll be jetting off to spend some time in Chicago and from there, I'll directly go to my college (OMG), which is named Beloit and it's in Wisconsin, if you forgot/didn't know. So if anyone wants to do anything with me, it's now or never (oh my goodness...that's so depressing...) To tell the truth, what I'd like to do is go see POTC 2 on Thursday night at 11:59, but if I wanted to do that, I should've planned ahead and bought tickets and whatever *sigh* I can't wait for that movie though. Maybe I'll go Friday morning...I really, really want to go!!!!
Anyway...today was fun. My whole family was home because it was July 4th, of course. It would've been extra cool, except that they were all home Saturday through today, so basically it was just like a 4-day weekend for them. I have the pleasure to not have anything to do my whole summer, which is pretty nice. My parents have work and my sister has summer school (ouch. 5 hours of chemistry daily for 6 weeks...that's just painful) and me? I don't have to do anything, though truthfully, I should've gotten a job. Details, details... Anyway, I was planning to wake up early today, but I acidentally was up at 4:30 and didn't go back to sleep til about 6:00 and then I slept for quite a few more hours x_x Oh well...I used the computer in the morning and then my mom reminded me to make some Apple Crisp. She had wanted it Sunday (or maybe Monday?), but I told her I'd make it for the Fourth of July, because apple-y desserts were just oh so American. And since she actually remembered, I had to make it x_x It turned out well though, and Mom and Dad actually peeled the apples for me, which was nice because it would've taken my forever to peel 10 of those things...it took me long enough to make the thing anyway. I faced little obstacles like running out of sugar and using brown sugar instead etc. (how does a person run out of white sugar? really now) To tell the truth, I like Apple Pie recipes that use brown sugar as opposed to white sugar, so the Apple Crisp tasted better actually...but still x_x Then later I watched some of the Independence Day Monk Marathon. Monk is so good...I actually watched 2 episodes that I either hadn't seen or didn't remember...they were both from 2004, so I assume that they came out when I didn't have TiVo and those episodes were new ones that I had missed at the time. Oh yeah, or I just forgot them (but I doubt that). And then we had grilled hamburgers for dinner, yum. I opted out of going to the fireworks this year. I don't know, but it seems to me that they're always too short, and it's too crowded, and we have to park so far away that we might've just walked from our house instead x_x I decided to see if we could see them near our house anyway once I heard them start. When I walked with my parents to the entrance of Village Homes, we could actually see about half of them, so that was nice. And that was about it for today... ^^;;
I should update more...especially since I have more time in the summer and stuffs. I was thinking that I want to do a "Holly Special" which will outline every single show on tv that I actively watch. Then when I was really thinking about it, I realized how many shows that was O_O So maybe I don't...(and I don't even spend that much time watching tv, compared to using the computer or anything...craziness)

There are so many movies that are coming out next year that I wanna see...<a href="http://imdb.com/title/tt0494238/>Inkheart</a> for example. The sad thing about movies that are in production is that sometimes they never come out :(

music: 後藤真希 - ガラスのパンプス (Preview)
Ooh, I'm excited! I listened to a preview for Maki Goto's new single called "Glass no Pumps". It's fast and a lot of people have described it as being "avex-y" Songs like "Afurechau...BE IN LOVE", "Ai no Bakayarou" and "Daite yo! PLEASE GO ON" will always be my favorites, but this song is good too. I <3 Maki
EDIT: Now I'm in a bad mood. I found out something that happened in this manga accidentally that's way ahead of where I am...something big...blegh...now I'm annoyed and have a dark cloud hanging over me :(

I'm so bored I was even thinking about making a quizilla quiz O_o I haven't done that in years, lol. They're fun though. And I'd be much better at doing them now I think. Maybe I will make one...Actually, I want to learn how to use other (better *cough*) quiz makers.

And yay! In a few hours I'll be driving to Santa Cruz! Early weekend for me! I get to miss a math test tomorrow and probably lots of other stuff. And now I don't have to clean my feet (lol...don't ask) I'm visiting UCSC and I'll be back Friday night or afternoon. I'm going with my dad and it should be fun. I need to update my iPod...

At least since she's coming it gives me a chance to do a thorough cleaning of my room (which she will be staying in). I'm washing all the comforters and blankets even (that doesn't happen too often...) My room looks really nice right now and I wish I had a digital camera to take pictures with and post online (lol)

So, what presents should I get her? I'd get her an Ashlee Simpson CD but she probably has them all (or both, she only has 2? I don't listen to her >.< ) What do you think?
